John M. Mirch, 95, of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Harbor Care in Fairport Harbor. He was born on February 23, 1930, in Fairport Harbor, OH to parents Joseph and Mary (Bertics) Mirch and was a graduate of Fairport Harding High and Harvey High School. John enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1950-1952, after being honorably discharged, he married Philomena M. Arcaro on May 16, 1953. He was a long-time employee of Diamond Shamrock located in Fairport Harbor. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, loved "shelling" on Panama City Beach in Florida, and enjoyed playing bingo. He is survived by his children, Paula DiLiello (Andy), John Mirch Jr., Michele Mirch (Dan Turner), Roberta Trovinger (Bill), Jeffrey Mirch (Lynn Fleury), and Nicole Moskall (Joey); grandchildren, Scott Zivoder, Genna Byrd (Nathan Harold), Justin Byrd (Jessica), Brandon Moskall, Joshua Moskall, Adam Mirch, Leah Mirch, Kara Mirch, and Lauren Moskall. John was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Philomena (Arcaro) Mirch, on September 26, 2024; parents, Joseph and Mary (Bertics) Mirch; and siblings, Joseph F. Mirch, Mary Hornyak, and Betty Merkosky. A combined funeral service for both John and Philomena will be held at 10:30am, on December 5, 2025, at Advent Lutheran Church, 7985 Munson Rd, Mentor, OH 44060, the family will receive visitors at 10:00am. There will be a luncheon following the service at Advent Lutheran Church. A burial will directly follow at Riverside Cemetery, 385 Riverside Dr, Painesville, OH 44077.
