Obituary

John Anthony Perry, 63, of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away on June 1, 2024. He was born on July 9, 1960, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to parents Charles and Joyce Perry.
John was a true entrepreneur and inventor. After graduating from Harbor High School, he started in splicing. He soon after started and ran a very successful construction business for over 20 years. He had locations in New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Ohio. In the early 80's, he successfully installed the first dual cable system in Milwaukee. This was the first one ever done in the United States. He also built a quarter of Philadelphia with underground cable.
John was a visionary and seemed to be always ahead of the time. He was an inventor of many different products and held many different patents. He was the International INPEX award winner at the INPEX 2003 tradeshow for his inventions and won the Silver Medal Award of Merit.
As an avid Cleveland sports fan, John spent many years by his family's side, never missing a Sunday Cleveland Brown's football game or an Indians game.
John was very generous at heart and helped many people throughout his lifetime. Family and friends knew him to be the first to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.
John is survived by his siblings, Christine (Michael) Sadie, Michael (Carol) Perry, Patrick (Jo) Perry, Stephen (Felicia) Perry, Joseph (Patty) Perry, Margaret Lukkarila, Edward (Lisa) Perry, Elizabeth Campbell, Kathleen (Kevin) Koski; and many nieces and nephews.
A private celebration will be held at Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services at a later date, to honor the life of John.
