John Arthur Shaffer "Artie", 63, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born on April 14, 1961, in Cleveland, OH, to parents Joanne and Robert Shaffer. Artie attended St. Joseph's High School in Cleveland and graduated in 1979, he also attended West Tech – class of 1979. He worked as a furniture mover, truck driver, steel worker, and Molded Fiber Glass, he was also a Teamsters Union representative. Artie was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles for 20 plus years and was a current dual member at Geneva and Jefferson Aeries. He was a Christian, was a devoted Cleveland sports fan, and was a motorcycle enthusiast. Artie is survived by his wife, Eleanor Beaver; children, Artie Jr., Desire, April, Mandy, Rocky, and Serena; stepchildren, Jeniffer Oliver, Leo Beaver, and Devastasha Beaver; brother, Ronald (Sandy) Shaffer; and 12 grandchildren whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joanna and Robert Shaffer. Memorial donations can be made in Artie's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Ashtabula Animal Protective League, and to Jefferson First Baptist Church.
