John M. Zanzig, 62, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away from cancer on Friday, October 20, 2023, at home with his family by his side.
He was born July 1, 1961, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Robert B. and Elizabeth (Tisdale) Zanzig. On December 31, 1987, he married Tracy Schindler and together they shared over 35 years of love and memories.
John owned and operated Zanzig Construction for many years and was very proud of the work he did. Most recently, he was the maintenance manager for Anchor Hotel & Cottages at Geneva-on-the-Lake. In his spare time, he loved watching the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and was a huge NASCAR fan with his favorite drivers being Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy Zanzig; daughters, Jennifer (Jim) Aquillano and Kristina (Anthony) Swiger; grandchildren, Jimmy, Majesty, Kalyn, Jaiden, Mason, Leora, Bryland, and Artimus; siblings, Al Zanzig, Denise (Robert) Kase, Carla Nixon, and Bobby Abner.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert B. and Elizabeth (Tisdale) Zanzig; paternal grandparents, Carl and Emma Zanzig; maternal grandparents, Harley and Dorothy Tisdale.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 4pm-6pm at Sonny Lanes, 696 State Route 534 South, Geneva, Ohio.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio, assisted the family with arrangements.
