Jon E. Still, of Jefferson, Ohio, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Jon was born on February 21, 1948, to Lucille and Francis Still of Union City. He was a 1966 graduate of Union City High School, where he played football, basketball, wrestling, and golf, and made lifelong friends—Jack, Mike, Joe, and Bill. Out of love and admiration for his country, Jon enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. After returning home, he continued his service as a Millcreek Police Officer, working alongside his beloved K-9 partner, Satan. He retired in 2007 after nearly 36 years of dedicated service.
Always adventurous and deeply committed to serving others, Jon later deployed to Iraq, where he worked for the Department of Defense from 2008 to 2013. Among his many accomplishments, he was recognized for his swift actions in helping save fellow servicemen after their Humvee struck an IED.
Jon enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, especially riding his Harley, sailing, formation skydiving, listening to music (particularly live music at wineries), frequent visits to McDonald's, and golfing with friends from his childhood and the Millcreek Police Department. He had an incredible sense of humor and could make anyone laugh—whether through stories from his life or stories he dreamed up. Kind and generous, Jon was often the first to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Of all his adventures, Jon's favorite was being "Dad" to "his girls" and a devoted husband to his wife, Shelley (Stark) Still, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughters, Tara Pace of Erie; Tamilyn Shetler and husband Jim Breth of Meadville; April Revak and husband Kyle Mulligan of Erie; and Erica Revak of Albion; step-son Jeffrey Stone of Harpersfield; step-daughter Jennifer Hejduk and husband Terry of Rome; brother-in-law Larry Stone of Harpersfield; sister-in-law Robin Nicholes and husband DeWayne of Madison; as well as his beloved bernedoodle, Wally. Jon is further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless close friends.
In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his sister, Colleen Morgan of Florida, and his brother, Terry Still of Northeast.
Donations in Jon's name may be made to the APL. As requested, no funeral Mass or visitation will be held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
