Joseph John Spirka

Joseph John Spirka, age 88, of Montville, Ohio passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

He was born on September 27, 1937, in Cleveland to the late Frank and Anna Spirka.

Joseph worked for Lake Asphalt Paving, Hack Incorporated and was a member of the Operators Local 18. He was parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Thompson, Ohio and in his free time, loved farming.

He is survived by his children, Therese (Charles) Dawes and Joe M. Spirka; grandson, Jason M. (April) Metz; great-grandchildren, Damion Lee Metz, Anna Marie Metz and Blake Allen Metz.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Gail Spirka (nee Mazula); parents, Frank and Anna Spirka.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00am in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 16550 Rock Creek Road, Thompson, Ohio 44086. After the service, Joseph will be cremated.

Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
