Obituary

Judi Skiba (Judith Lynn Teschke), 73 years old, was born January 16, 1949 and died September 24, 2022
at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.

Judi is survived by her husband, Larry Skiba, her daughter, Jenna Colby, stepsons, Darrell and Wayne Skiba, stepdaughter Kim Vasconcelos, her brothers, Michael Teschke and Doug Frey and sister Jeannie Harper. Judi's parents Katherine and Edward Teschke preceded her in death.

Judi was a graduate of Madison Memorial High School, class of 1967. She dearly loved her circle of high school friends, "We Six", Paula Akehurst Doland, Carol McGlothlin Hopkins, Shelley Baldwin, Jane Knerem Durbin, Penny Buck Schafer (deceased), Pat Andrews Roberts and Carol Lay Cleavenger.

A very talented artist, one of Judi's first jobs was as a graphic artist for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, MO. She then worked at Allen-Bradley as an electro-mechanical engineer for many years and finally went on to retire as a mechanical engineer at Nordic Air Corporation. She excelled as a woman in a male-dominated field her entire life, while also being an artist, drawing many pen and ink sketches of homes in Madison and Unionville. Animal activism was a passion of Judi, who had a soft spot for all animals, especially cats. Her home was always filled with cats, usually strays that she'd saved. She was a staunch Democrat, a strong feminist, and a unique soul who left the world a little more beautiful with the life she lived.
