Keith was born November, 21, 1946 , in Euclid, Ohio to Edmund and Doris (Byram) McDerment.
Keith was known by everyone that crossed his life's path as a "Man among Men". If you could think it, he would do it. If you needed it, he would make it happen.
Keith graduated from Euclid High School. Friends/neighbors that grew up or knew him described him as a workaholic. He started at age 13 delivering The Plain Dealer, then Bellaire Pools delivering and installing pools, Euclid Lumber working the lumber yard. He entered into a 2 year Apprentice program with National Acme becoming a Union Carpenter. Partnered with friend/Mentor, Gerry Carilise, and purchased Colebrook Farm and farmed and raised cattle. Went on to 1001-1015 Associates in downtown Cleveland as lead of Building Maintenance and was introduced to The Leader Mortgage Co. and they pushed him and he started his own business, Ohio Wide Inc., which prospered from 1979-2021. His love for trains brought him to become an Engineer with AC & J Railroad/Scenic Lines in Jefferson, Ohio.
During this time he met and married his best friend of 38 years, wife, Sharon, on October 12, 2001, where they settled and built their home in Austinburg Twp., known to many as The Grand River Junction which included his love for trains, the covered bridges throughout Ashtabula County and what once stood the Grist Mill in Mechanicsville.
Keith's drive in life allowed him to enjoy all of his hobbies and interests to include, model railroading, construction, excavating, inventing, running Speeders on the railroad, building race cars, canoeing, riding ATV's, building furniture, a paddle wheel boat, and canoes.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sharon (Kacica) McDerment, sons Brian McDerment of Colebrook Twp, Kirt (Jessica) McDerment of Austinburg; granddaughters Madison McDerment of Jefferson and Haylee McDerment of Austinburg.
