Kenneth M. Howiler, age 68, of Painesville, passed away at home on February 19th. He was born on June 11th, 1955, to Ann and Paul Howiler and grew up in Mentor Headlands, a place he knew like the back of his hand.
His love for the desert began after a spontaneous trip to Arizona, where he soon married his wife, Sue, of 47 years. After relocating to Ohio, he became a master machinist and worked at PMC for 40 years, retiring in 2017.
He was a devoted, loving father and husband who enjoyed exciting new adventures such as canoeing, whitewater rafting, camping, hiking, skydiving, and ziplining with his family. One of his greatest joys was mapping and organizing off-the-beaten-path family vacations from coast to coast.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Paul, and his siblings Pat, Karl, Joe, and Sandy.
Surviving him are his wife, Susan Drobinski, children Liz (Buck), Paul (Justin), Dave, brother Bob, and the family dogs. In addition to his children, he had a strong bond with his nieces, Jen and Hayley. He also leaves behind close members of his extended family.
Per Kenny's request, in lieu of sending flowers, consider buying yourself a case of beer. A celebration of life is planned for later this summer.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
