Larry H. Loyd

Larry Hobart Loyd, 84, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2026, at Hillcrest Hospital.

Born on May 5, 1942, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Larry was the son of the late Margaret and Wayne Loyd. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Ashtabula High School.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years on active duty. Following his military service, he built a career as a car salesman, a profession he enjoyed for much of his life. Known for his friendly personality and ability to connect with people, Larry made many lasting friendships throughout his career and community.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed playing pool, bowling, fishing, and spending time on the golf course. Whether sharing stories with friends, casting a line, or enjoying a round of golf, he appreciated life's simple pleasures and the company of those around him. Larry was of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by his children, Dawn Green and Scott Lloyd; his grandchildren, Cole Rouge; great-grandchildren, Layla Auxier, Anna O'Sullivan and Giovanni Green; and nephew, and Dustin Michalsk. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Wayne Loyd; granddaughter, Mackenzie Green; and his siblings, Clayborn Loyd, Wayne Loyd, Sandra Randolph, Timothy Loyd, and Jeffrey Loyd.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, sense of humor, dedication to his family, and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral and visitation arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
