Linda Sue (Penny) Portzer

Linda Sue (Penny) Portzer, passed away on Thursday morning, October 22, 2026, at Meadow Falls in Saybrook, after an extended illness. She was born in Ashtabula, on May 14, 1940, the daughter of Sue (Ferguson) Hadlock. Penny graduated from Kingsville High School in 1958 and married her best friend and love of her life, Casper Portzer on November 11, 1961. They spent 64 happy years raising a family, riding safety patrol on the bike trail and traveling to antique engine shows around the tri-state area. For a time, Penny worked at the jewelry kiosk in the Ashtabula mall and joined her friends in the YMCA water exercise class. Penny is survived by her husband, Cap Portzer; her daughter, Doreen (Adam) Jones, of Williamsfield; son, Daniel Portzer, of Ashtabula; granddaughter, Amanda (John) Hickman, of Conneaut; sister, Darla Brown, of Florida; and brothers, Richard and Rodney. The family wishes to thank her caregivers from Hospice of the Western Reserve and her aids at Meadow Falls for the kindness shown to her during her stay.
