Lois Mae Burgett, 92, of Harpersfield Township, Ohio passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Geneva Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Lois was born May 11, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to Kenneth Alfred McClintock and Clara Pearl McClintock (Hollingsworth) and graduated from East High School (Cleveland). As a child, she survived the 1944 Cleveland East Ohio Gas explosion and subsequent fires. Growing up she enjoyed fishing with her father on the shores of Lake Erie and watching her beloved Cleveland Indians.
Lois worked various jobs throughout her life to provide for her family. Later in life she volunteered at the Geneva Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and various charities. She was a member of the South Harpersfield United Methodist Church for over 60 years and served 10 years as the President of the Geneva Senior Center devoting many hours to her fellow senior citizens. She was a member of Off Our Rockers band where she enjoyed singing for residents at assisted living facilities throughout Ashtabula County. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, fishing, bingo, playing cards, casino bus trips, watching baseball, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister Carol Burtt; children, Keith (Pat) Jackson, Renee (Bruce) Boling, "Her favorite" Brian (Joanne) Jackson, Donald (Doris) Jackson, Chris (Diane) Jackson, Penny (Rupert) Anderson, Michael (Cindy) Burgett, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grand children.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Alfred McClintock and Clara Pearl McClintock (Hollingsworth); husband, Harold Burgett; sister, Evelyn Horvath; brother, Tommy McClintock; ex-husband, Raymond Jackson; and longtime boyfriend, Bob King.
The family would like to invite all Lois's friends and family to A Celebration of Life to be held from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on March 23, 2025 at the Harpersfield Community Center, 5604 Cork Cold Springs Rd, Geneva, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Geneva Area Senior Center, 62 West Main Street, Geneva, OH 44041. Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
