Louis Richard Funge (Lou), 71, of Girard, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Hospice House in Boardman, Ohio.
He was born April 25, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph and Jennie (Depinto) Funge and attended school in Girard, Ohio. On July 22, 1977, he married Martha Sierra and together they shared over 46 years of memories.
Lou worked for the Girard Street Department and in his spare time was an avid dancer, bowler, poker player, and big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Miami Dolphins.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Funge; children, Sherrilynn Lucas (William "Matt" Lucas) of Vienna, Ohio and Charla Cano of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Eric Andamasaris, and Addison Lucas; siblings, Joan Bartholomew-Geralsky, and Maryann Babbitt; niece, Lori Slimmer; nephews, Michael Sierra, Patrick Sierra, and John Slimmer. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jennie (Depinto) Funge; grandchild, Caydance Funge-Werner; sister, Rita Martin; grandparents, Louis and Minnie Funge.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated with no formal services.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Patriot at Home, especially to Steve and January and to the staff at Hospice House of Boardman.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
