Lynda Susan Dana

Lynda Susan Dana, 73, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2026.

Born on June 12, 1953, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Lynda was the beloved daughter of Frank and Alice Harper, who preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of Ashtabula, she graduated from Ashtabula High School with the Class of 1971 and went on to attend Kent State University. She was also a member of the Growth Partnership of Ashtabula County.

On June 26, 1998, Lynda married the love of her life, Edward Dana, who survives her. She is also survived by her son, Douglas Hanley of California.

Lynda dedicated 34 years of service to Ashtabula County Job and Family Services, where she was a valued county employee known for her commitment, compassion, and strong work ethic. She retired after a career spent helping members of her community.

Music was one of Lynda's greatest passions. She was a founding member and bass player for the local cover band “Larry, Daryl, Daryl and Sheryl”, and she loved playing alongside many of Ashtabula's talented local musicians. She was deeply respected within the area's music community and cherished the friendships she built through her performances.

Outside of music, Lynda found joy in flower gardening and caring for her beloved pets. She had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support touched countless lives.

Lynda will be remembered as a compassionate, caring soul whose friendship, laughter, and love enriched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, service, and music will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date, with details to be announced by the family.
