Obituary

Maria Ann Farone Vuchinich, 71, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1953, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Olive Farone (D’Ercole) and the late Anthony Farone. She was also raised with the love and support of her stepfather, Anthony “Dutch” Pecora.

Maria graduated from Collinwood High School in 1972. On September 12, 1975, she married the love of her life, John Vuchinich, beginning a marriage that spanned 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and countless cherished memories.

Maria shared a particularly close bond with her mother-in-law, Violet Diamond Vuchinich, and her father-in-law, George Vuchinich, both of whom preceded her in death. These relationships were a meaningful part of her life, reflecting the deep connections she formed with the people she loved.

For 30 years, Maria was a devoted member of the Rosicrucian Order, where she served as a master. She also attended college to study the culinary arts, developing her talents into something truly special. Maria was a phenomenal cook who expressed her love through the meals she prepared and the time she spent bringing her family together around the table.

Cooking was one of Maria’s greatest love languages. She found countless ways to show her family how much they meant to her, not only through her cooking but also through her unwavering support, generosity, and care. No matter what life brought her way, Maria was always there for the people she loved. Her family knew they could count on her for encouragement, comfort, and unconditional love.

Maria is survived by her husband, John Vuchinich; nephew, Anthony Johnson; nieces, Gia Farone, Annabella Farone, and Sophia Bonnerego; great-nephew, Ayden Joseph Johnson; sisters, Ramona “Mona” Farone Owens, and Roseanne (Pecora) Misner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Olive Farone; her mother and father in law; and siblings, Ronald “Ronnie” Citino, Anthony “Tony” Citino, Joseph Farone, and JoAnne Farone; and brother-in-law, John Edward Owens.

Maria will be remembered for her loving heart, her incredible cooking, her devotion to her family, and the many ways she made others feel cared for. Her presence brought warmth to family gatherings, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Maria is deeply missed and will forever be loved. Though she is no longer physically with us, her love, strength, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind will remain with her family always.

Her love will live on in every shared meal, every treasured memory, and every heart she touched.
