Marilyn (Pannebaker) Garner, 86, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
She was born February 26, 1937 in Todd Township, PA to Raymond and Freda (Chilcote) Pannebaker and also raised by her step-father, Austin Ramsey. After graduating from Saltillo High School, Marilyn married Melvin Garner in Mapleton Depot, PA on March 2, 1956.
Marilyn retired from the Geneva Clinic and in her spare time, was an active member of Harpersfield United Methodist Church, and enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, and especially spending time with family.
She is survived by sons: Shelley (Beth) Garner of Geneva, Rodney (Janet Cutler) Garner of Geneva, and Rian (Malinda) Garner of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter: Susan (Mark) Legg of Ashtabula; grandchildren: Megan (John) Morrison of Williamsfield, Emily Nicholson of Geneva, Jeffery (Allyssa) Garner of Painesville, Bryan Connor (Carrie Myers) of Eastlake, Evan Cutler of Concord, Grayson, Kellan, Dax, and Pyper Garner all of Ft. Worth, TX, Sara (Zachary) Ward of Austinburg, Steven (Meghan) Legg of Roaming Shores, and Timothy (Heidi) Legg of Jefferson; great-grandchildren: Sydney and John (Turbo) Morrison, Tyler Nicholson, Carter Garner, Cadence Connor, Adelaide Cutler, Hunter Ward, Jaydon Rossi, Shellby and Mason Legg, Jase and Aubree Legg; extended family: Debbie (Joe) Beres.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Freda (Chilcote) Pannebaker; step-father, Austin Ramsey; husband, Melvin Garner; long-time companion, Eugene "Gene" Legg; step-sister, Ethel (John) Cobaugh; step-brother, George Ramsey.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 with visitation from 9:00am until the time of service at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio, with Pastor Shirley Stoops-Frantz officiating the service. Burial will be at Bowman's Chapel Cemetery in Mapleton Depot, PA at a later date.
