Marilyn Louise Whiting, age 75, of Geneva, passed away on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at University Hospital in Geneva after a very long battle with several health conditions.
Marilyn was born on May 19, 1950, in Geneva, OH, to parents Mildred and Dean Barber. Marilyn attended and graduated from Geneva High School.
On August 15th, 1981, Marilyn married her love, Greg Whiting and together they spent nearly 44 years raising their family. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with family, especially her dear grandchildren and her husband Greg. Marilyn was fortunate to have her devoted husband Greg's care throughout her healthcare journey. In her free-time, Marilyn loved to take car rides, find new restaurants and old favorites to go out to eat, going camping with her family, and she also enjoyed gambling and watching her favorite T.V. shows, Walker, Texas Ranger and The Fall Guy. Marilyn was Catholic in her religious faith.
She is survived by her loving husband Greg, her daughter, Lisa (Chris) Palinkas, and by her grandchildren, Ava and Mya Palinkas. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley (Art) Schneider, Chris (Mike) Barker, Peggy Barber, and Dan (Kathy) Barber.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Dean Barber, and by her siblings Mary Jean Barber, and Tom "T.J." Barber. A Celebration of Marilyn's Life will be held Sunday, Sept. 7th, 2025, from 12pm-3pm at the Geneva V.F.W., 76 Depot Street, Geneva, OH. 44041.
