Mary Julia Getch (nee McInnerney), 84, of Rock Creek, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born June 28, 1937 in Willoughby, Ohio the daughter of the late Martin Michael and Catherine (nee Collingwood) McInnerney and attended Cork Elementary School and graduated from Geneva High School.
Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Nichols Bakery, Shady Acres, Cardinal Woods, Jefferson Geriatric Center, Camp Burton, and Montville Church of Christ. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, and spending time with her family especially watching her grandchildren play baseball/softball.
She is survived by her children: Martin Getch, Barb (Jay) Algahim, Robert (Sheila) Getch, Margaret (Kennie) Bentley, and Patty (Steve) Williams; grandchildren: Jennifer Price, Nasher Algahim, Julia Algahim, Shannon Stojak, Erin Getch, Amber Greene, Catherine Carlton, Elizabeth Williams, Stephanie Williams, Stevie Williams, Jessica Bentley, and Stephen Bentley; great-grandchildren: Ben Algahim, Nash Algahim, Charlotte Carlton, and baby Greene "on the way"; great-great-grandchildren: Brandon and Josey Algahim; siblings: Martin McInnerney and Catherine Gress; lifelong best friend since elementary school, Al Warner.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Arthur Getch on September 27, 1978; parents Martin Michael and Catherine (nee Collingwood) McInnerney; brother, John McInnerney.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Painesville Baptist Church, 140 Park Road, Painesville, Ohio 44077 where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. A memorial luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the service. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery in Leroy, Ohio.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
