It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Matthew Robert Ceveny, age 41, of Jefferson, OH, on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his home.

Matthew (Matt) was born on August 8, 1984, in Berea, OH, to Richard Ceveny and Maureen McQuaid. He is survived by his loving life partner, Danielle (Dani) Butler (34), with whom he spent almost 9 wonderful years; his brother, Mark Ceveny (39), whom Dani is seeking guardianship over per Matt's wishes; and a close circle of chosen family including Alex Strasza, Eric Papes, James Cabot, and Carl Locigno.


Matt has been a valued employee of the Lincoln Electric Company since January 2015 and recently pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by establishing his farm Cluckin Around LLC alongside Dani.
His passions included a deep love for music, particularly heavy metal, playing PC and console video games (Metroidvanias to RPG/JRPG), enjoyed his farm life, and was an avid fisherman (if there was water, he would drop a hook). Matt was frequently found playing music for the turkeys, snuggling chickens, honking at the geese, or watching the ducks zoomies by the pond. Matt's family and friends will remember him as a good, well humored man, always willing to help others and share a laugh.


A Celebration of Life will be held in Matt's honor at Ashtabula Elks Lodge #208 at 3115 Lake Rd W, Ashtabula, OH 44004, on January 3, 2026, from 1-4pm.

He will be buried on his farm in the Spring with a private ceremony. A Sugar Maple tree will be planted in his living urn by his favorite pond, a living tribute honoring his love for nature, the farm and his sense of humor.
