Obituary

Mary Ann "Mitzi" Gustincic, 77, of Mentor, Ohio (formerly of Madison), died on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Cleveland Clinic while recovering from surgery.
Mitzi was born July 28, 1944 to Ludwig J. Gustincic, Jr. and Mary J. Gustincic (Davis) in Painesville, Ohio. She was a 1962 graduate of Madison High School. She was the eldest of four children, Lud III (Vicki), John (Linda), and Pat Zapp (Bob) all raised in Madison Village. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Lud.
Mitzi worked most of her life in retail and grocery as a front-end store manager and later as an accounts payable clerk. She was a notary public and obtained her realtors license long ago. She enjoyed travel, sunshine on the Lakeshore, boating, and knitting. In 1962, she was sponsored by Eddies Grill in Geneva-on-the-Lake as a beauty pageant contestant for Ms. Ohio. She was also an avid sports fan rooting for her son's games on the sidelines whether it was baseball, football, wrestling or track and field. For her grandkids and great grandkids, she greatly supported the hockey leagues, baseball, and softball teams. If she wasn't there, she'd inquire as to their latest feats.
Mitzi is survived by her siblings John and Pat of Madison, sister-in-law Vicki of Cleveland and her 3 sons: Tony (Victoria) of Suffolk, VA; DJ, "Danny" (Linda) of Suffolk, VA; and Devan, "Scott" of Kirtland, OH. She has 8 grandkids: Kristal Creevey, Briana Fuentes, AJ Stewart, Dalton Stewart, Aaron Stewart (all in VA), Kolleen Stewart in MI, Tommy, and Miley Stewart of Kirtland, OH. In addition, her 8 great-grand kids (Caiden, Dante, Emma Rose, Liam, Isabella, Savannah, Cecilia, Oliver) all reside in VA. She will forever be their "GG". She is also survived by many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country.
A private cremation service will be held for family with care entrusted to Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services of Geneva. On Saturday January 15, friends may join the family for fellowship, food, and sharing of memories from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Hampton Inn 171 Water Tower Drive, Madison, OH 44057.
