Melanie H. Furtaw (Koda), 32, of Ashtabula, passed away on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, at Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, Ohio, with his family at his side.

Koda was born on September 1, 1991, to parents Madeline Zalar and David Furtaw in Painesville, Ohio and was a graduate of Harvey High School. Some of Koda's hobbies included, playing softball, Line Dancing, working on cars, and listening to music and was a member of Painesville United Methodist Church.

Koda is survived by his mother, Madeline Zalar; siblings, Shelly (Rob) Dubois, Alan (Liz) Clingerman, Melissa Clingerman, and Meredith Furtaw. He was preceded in death by his father, David Furtaw; grandparents, Jack and Frances Furtaw, and Henry and Patricia Zalar. At this time no services are scheduled, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
