Melvin "Mel" Swartz, age 88, of Ashtabula, passed away on November 1st, 2025, at ARMC with his family by his side. Mel was born on September 12th, 1937, in Springfield, OH., to parents Charles and Grace Swartz. Mel really enjoyed his time spent at Hickory Grove Golf Course working and playing golf in his free time. He also looked forward to playing bingo on Wednesday nights at the V.F.W. Mel was a proud member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and the East Ashtabula Club. He honorably served as a Sargeant with the National Guard. Mel was very outgoing and easily made friends playing cards, golfing, and bowling. He is survived by his daughter Reva (Rod) Hoke, granddaughters Amy (Tim) Drabinski, Melissa (Steven) Rozycki, daughter-in-law, Debi Adams, and brother, James Swartz. Mel is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorraine, his sister Mary Barchanowitz, son Eulis Adams, and his granddaughter, Stefanie Adams. Mel will be missed by all that knew him. There will be no formal service per Mel's wishes.
