Obituary

Michelle "Mitch" L. (Nee Reigh) Morris, age 86, of Geneva, passed away on January 11th, 2023, at Geneva Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing after complications following a stoke. Michelle was born on December 23rd, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Leroy and Martha (Nee Sutton) Reigh. Michelle was a graduate of Riverside High School in 1954 and attended Cosmetology School soon after. After school, Michelle worked many years in Cosmetology and worked as a secretary with a few different companies, she had excellent typing and short-hand skills. In 1996, Michelle married Walton "Walt" Blaser, and they spent 48 wonderful years together and 26 of those years married. Her passions included playing the piano, singing, racing horses, showing horses with the 4-H Club, attending weekly horse shows with her daughters Debbie and Cathy, and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Michelle is survived by her husband Walt; her children, Debbie Messenger (Nee Yuse), and Richard Rose (who was like a son to her) of Ashtabula; her stepson, Wally (Tica) Blaser of Chardon and stepdaughter, Christine Blaser of Auburn; her beloved grandchildren, Derek Messenger of Ashtabula, Matthew (Sally) Zeller of Jefferson, Mark Zeller of Meadville, PA., Charlie, Jake, and Benny. Michelle is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren, Corey, AmyLee, Brantley, Matthew, and Hailey Zeller all of Jefferson, Autumn Bosley of Cortland, Arabella Plats of Ashtabula and Marley and Rikki Utica. Also surviving Michelle is her loving sister, Martha Lytle of Rio Linda, CA., and her nieces, Sandy Rogers of Rio Linda CA., Shelley Cincade of Aurora, OH., and Sharon Boland of Lenoir, NC. She is preceded in death by her loving daughter, Catherine Swain, and her grandchildren, Michael Zeller of Jefferson, and Shanta Swain of Cooperstown, PA. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Elizabeth Ann Wyant of Florida, and Omer Grannell of Chardon, OH. A private visitation service was held for Michelle's immediate family. Inurnment will take place at a future date in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
