Obituary

Mindy Michelle Brunn, 43, of Painesville, Ohio formerly of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at UH Geneva Hospital, after fighting a 6-year battle with Cancer so bravely and courageously.

Born on May 2, 1982, in Cleveland, Ohio, Mindy was the beloved daughter of Veronica (Bestvina) Brunn and Dale E. Brunn. She was a graduate of Eaglecrest High School in Aurora, Colorado, and continued her education at the Community College of Aurora, Centennial, Colorado, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree.

Mindy had a caring and compassionate spirit that shaped both her life and her work. Throughout her career, she held several positions, but her true passion and gift was working with children with special needs and later supporting adults with special needs for more than 25 years. Mindy took pride in knowing how to communicate with her special needs children, seeing past what others saw as a disability, and showing them the beauty of life. She was a beautiful soul, strong, selfless, kind and compassionate, always looking for the best in every situation. Mindy was always willing to help anyone even when she was in so much pain.

She had a natural ability to connect with others, offering patience, understanding, and kindness to those in her care.

She found joy in life's simple and creative pleasures. Mindy loved baking and cooking for family and friends, and she expressed her creativity through ceramics, painting, and crocheting. Her handmade gifts and warm kitchen were reflections of her generous heart.

Mindy is survived by her loving parents, Veronica S. (Bestvina) Brunn and Dale E. Brunn; her brothers, Christopher S. Brunn and Adam T. Brunn (Crystal); her nephews, Landon and Thomas; and her nieces, Haylee and Riley. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Cleveland at the end of May and in Denver later this summer. Details will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her parents c/o Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, OH 44041.
