Myron L. Plats, of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born on October 31, 1947, in Ashtabula, Ohio to parents Norton and Lillian (Fasset) Plats. After graduating from Ashtabula High School, Myron joined the United States Airforce. In July 1994, he married the love of his life, Vivian Plats. Myron worked as a welder and fabricator, a profession that reflected his skill, dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he enjoyed spending many years pursuing his passion for racing. He was also a lifetime member of the Conneaut Fish and Game Club and the Amboy Rifle and Pistol Club, where he was a member of the pistol team with his wife Vivian. These activities brought him friendship, camaraderie, and many memorable experiences. His faith was an important part of his life, and he found comfort and meaning in studying the Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Plats; children, Bryan (Beth) Plats, Jennifer Troy and John Summers, Billy (Jean) Pykus, Cassandra (Jason) Trombley; grandchildren, Larissa (Adam) Clifford, Stone Starcher, Serenity Kincaid, Natalia, Maks Pykus, Hendrick, Theodore Trombley; great grandchild, Marcus Clifford; siblings, Charlie, Sidney, Bill, Neil Plats, Ruth Shapiro; many nieces and nephews.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Norton and Lillian Plats.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Myron’s name to Amboy Rifle and Pistol Club or Conneaut Fish and Game Club.
