Nana Marie (Denny) Charlton. Born August 1st, 1947 in Cleveland, Nana lost her battle with cancer on 9/24/2021. She was a longtime resident of Willoughby and moved to Painesville Twp. four years ago.
Nana leaves behind 4 children: Dennis (Kim) Charlton, Denise (Danny) O'Brien, Joe (Jen) Charlton and Laura (Sue) Charlton-Shirer. She was the loving grandmother of Mike (Bree), Chris, Bre, Kyler, Nick, Natalie, Jess and Willow. Nana also had many nieces and nephews and 4 Great Grandchildren. She felt very lucky in her final years to live close by and spend time with Tek and Lexus, two of her great grandchildren. Nana was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Nana loved to read and always had a book in purse ready to go. She spent many years watching her grandkids sports with a book in her hands to get her through the less than exciting parts. Though she was the first on her feet to cheer them on when they took the field. Anyone who knows Nana would also tell you she was obsessively early, for everything. She also enjoyed exploring northeast Ohio with her good friend, Bud Raddatz.
Nana worked most recently in the Fairport Harding High School Cafeteria. At 4'11 she was a tiny grandma to many of the students visiting the lunch lines. She loved to come home and talk about how wonderful the Fairport students were.
No memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Fairport Harbor Harding Athletic Boosters, PO Box 1029 Fairport OH 44077 in her memory.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
