Patricia Ann Kovacs

Patricia Ann (DiMarino) Kovacs, 73, of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026, at home surrounded by loved ones after a long, courageous battle with illness.

She was born on August 16, 1953, in Fairview, Ohio to the late Ferdinand Joseph DiMarino and Ione (Waters) DiMarino and graduated from Geneva High School. On July 26, 1980, she married Kevin Wesley Kovacs in Geneva, Ohio and together they shared many happy years together until his passing.

Patricia worked as a Special Needs Bus Aid for the Madison Local School System. Outside of work, her favorite pastime was thrifting. She also enjoyed spending time playing dominoes and cards, as well as working on word search puzzles.

She is survived by her siblings, Darlene (DiMarino) Cardenas, Mary Ann (DiMarino) Hook and husband Duane, Anthony DiMarino and wife Barbara, and Gina (DiMarino) Knapp and husband Daniel; and brother in law, Alan Kovacs.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Wesly Kovacs; son, James Ray “Jimmy Ray” Kovacs; parents, Ferdinand Joseph DiMarino and Ione (Waters) DiMarino; paternal grandparents, Nunzio and Mary (Polidore) DiMarino; maternal grandparents, Valantine and Marion (Smith) Waters.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at People’s Church, 300 South Ridge Road East, Geneva, Ohio 44041. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.

In place of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to either Hospice of the Western Reserve Foundation, P.O. Box 72700, Cleveland, Ohio 44192 or the Ashtabula APL, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt “Thank You” to the entire staff of Reserve Care Hospice (formerly, Hospice of the Western Reserve).

Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
