Patricia Ann Simpson, 88, of Jefferson, Ohio, passed away on December 4, 2022, after an extended illness.
Calling hours, services and a luncheon will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, starting at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Jefferson. Internment will be at Ray's Corners in Lenox Township, surrounded by her family and ancestors. A graveside service will be announced in the spring.
Pat was born November 27, 1934, at home, in Lenox, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Julia Hayford, her husband, Jack Simpson, and brothers Stanley and Robert Hayford. She is survived by her 3 children, Stephen E Simpson, Kelly E Simpson and Timoth J Simpson (Julie Stacey), 3 grandchildren, Craig P. Sizemore, Carlie L. Sizemore (Joseph Sinkko) and Dylan J. Simpson, as well as one great-granddaughter, Elise L. Cobb (Jared Holcomb).
Jack and Pat were married on June 29, 1957, at the Lutheran Church in Euclid, Ohio. They were married for 50 years prior to Jack's passing in 2007.
Pat retired from United Telephone after 25 years of service. Jack and Pat were the ultimate travelers. They were always planning the next vacation. That's what life was all about, a good time.
Pat enjoyed Cleveland sports, and was an avid fan of the Guardians and the Browns. She loved good coffee and was the grateful recipient of the coffee beans delivered regularly by her beloved niece, Robin Hayford-Fiebig. She loved good food. That was always a requirement for her many travels. She loved history, the arts, 10 cent beer night stories, reading and staying up on world affairs. Pat was brilliant! She was always up for a good laugh. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio, assisted the family with arrangements.
