Paul James Witt, 79, of Leroy Township, Ohio passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland after fighting various illnesses over many years.
He was born July 6, 1944, in Lake County, Ohio to Joseph Frank Witt and Ida Ann Hanusosky.
Paul retired from Concord Township Road Department after 20 years of service as Head Mechanic. He was multi-talented and could fix just about anything and quickly offered a helping hand to anyone in need. He mostly loved tinkering in his garage on his Classic Cars or old tractors. He was a proud member of the Model A Club of N.E. Ohio for more than 18 years and during deer hunting season he enjoyed being in the woods with family or friends.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Bellitto Ungrady-Witt; children, Denise (Jim) Cavallaro, and Steve (Tina) Witt; step-sons, Tom (Bonnie) Ungrady, Dave (Sherri) Ungrady, Bob (Michelle) Ungrady, and Steve (Carli) Ungrady; grandchildren, Tucker Witt, Emma Witt Schaden (Lucas), Brandon Cavallaro, Carmen Cavallaro, Erica DeMichel (Steve), David Ungrady, Brittney Ungrady, Alexandrea Hufnagle (Frankie), Tommy Ungrady Jr., Macey Ungrady, Emily Ungrady, Chloe Ungrady, and Stevie Ungrady; great-grandchildren, Jacob Ungrady, Julianna Ungrady, Brielle Hufnagle, Frankie Hufnagle, Laylah Ungrady, and Weslynn Ann Schaden.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Frank Witt and Ida Ann Hanusosky; granddaughter, Jenna Ungrady; brother, Jerry Witt.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, Ohio 44081 at 11:00am on Saturday, January 20, 2024. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass in the church basement in Alexander Hall (elevator access).
In place of flowers, the family suggest contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at Hospice of the Western Reserve for all of the love and care given to Paul in his last days.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
