Paula Lynn Ahlstrom, 58, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully due to Alzheimer's and Dementia at Jefferson Healthcare on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. She was born on August 17, 1966, in Jamestown, New York to Russ Johnson, and was a graduate of Edgewood High School class of 1985. Paula married her love, Dennis Ahlstrom on March 9, 1998, in Ashtabula, OH. She poured her heart into her family, finding her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. Her home bloomed with love and beauty, especially in her flower filled yard. Her warmth was felt in every cake she baked, whether in her own kitchen or through her work at her self-owned "Paula's Piece of Cake", as well as Olsen's Bakery. Paula loved traveling with her husband, especially to Las Vegas twice a year. She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Ahlstrom; children, Derrick McFarland (Sara Heitkamp), Erin Corwin, Melissa McFarland, Neil (Liz) Ahlstrom, Alanis (Alec) Copeland, and her dog Redington; grandchildren, Arianna, Rey, Kane, and Cameron McFarland, Kaleia, Aurora, Ivy, and Joey Ahlstrom, Joel Copeland; father, Russ Johnson; and siblings, Duane (Maritza) Johnson, Randy (April) Yanik, Loria (Don) Seekings. Paula was preceded in death by her mother, Teresa Johnson; son, Joel McFarland; and brother, Stevie Johnson. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
