Phillip Christopher DeGeorge, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on December 23, 1967, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Phil was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and so much more to the countless people whose lives he touched.

Phil was truly one of a kind. Known by many as the “King of Sales,” Phil had an extraordinary ability to connect with people. He could sell ice to an Eskimo, but what made him exceptional was that he never treated people like customers, he treated them like family. His massive personality could fill a room, and when Phil walked in, everyone knew he was there. People naturally gravitated toward him because he had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel welcomed, valued, and important.

Phil had a heart just as big as his personality. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need and never hesitate to help a friend, family member, or even a stranger. His generosity, humor, energy, and ability to bring people together will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

A proud and gifted athlete, Phil excelled at St. John High School in Ashtabula, where he played quarterback, running back, and kicker. His love for sports continued throughout his life. Because of his passion for athletics and, more importantly, his love for his children, Phil coached several sports and created countless memories on the sidelines and fields with his family.

Phil was a true adventurer who believed in experiencing everything life had to offer. He wanted to see new places, visit new states, take vacations, ride jet skis and boats, ride dirt bikes, and simply enjoy life to the fullest. He was never afraid to try something new and always wanted to make the most out of every opportunity and every moment.

Above all else, Phil was a family man. His family meant everything to him. He cherished the time spent together, the stories, the laughs, the adventures, and the memories that will now live on through those he loved. He was also a man of faith who held strong Christian values and carried his faith with him throughout his life.

Phil was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Guy and Virginia DeGeorge.

He leaves behind his siblings, Vince (Sue) DeGeorge, Candy (Norm) Urchek, Marisa DeGeorge, and Annette Hayes; his children, Alie (Johnny) DeGeorge, Ryan Bissell, Andrew Bissell, Devin DeGeorge, and Phillip DeGeorge; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who loved him dearly.

Phil's life was larger than life itself. He made people laugh, brought people together, helped those around him, and left an impression everywhere he went. His stories will be told, his jokes will be remembered, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Phil didn't simply walk into a room, he became the room.

His family and friends will carry his memory, his faith, his generosity, his love of life, and his unmistakable spirit with them always.

Rest in peace, Phil. You lived big, loved big, and left a bigger mark on this world than you ever could have known.
