RACHEL GOVAN was born on November 17, 1950, and
transitioned out of this life on April 7, 2026. Throughout her journey of
75 years, she touched many lives with her wisdom, humor and
unwavering spirit of perseverance.
Driven by an endless thirst for knowledge, Rachel was a lifelong learner and devoted teacher. She was a faithful member at Union Pentecostal Church where she taught Sunday School, and often shared her beautiful poems that she wrote. Rachel enjoyed needle pointing, and ALWAYS shared that gift with others. She loved studying the Word of God, and sharing it with many. Rachel had a great passion for reading and was always willing to share her knowledge.
In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband,
David Govan.
She leaves behind a special friend, Inez Webb, and others that loved her
and will miss her.
A memorial service celebration of Rachel's life will be held on April 18,
2026 at 11:00 a.m.. at Union Pentecostal Church, 159 Mathews Street, Painesville, Ohio. We invite all who knew and loved Rachel to join us
in honoring her memory.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor Rachel's legacy of learning and teaching by seeking out new knowledge, pushing beyond
the boundaries of the known, and sharing these insights with others. This we believe would be the best tribute to her life.
