Raymond Cortright, age 94, of Rome, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home in Orwell, Ohio.

He was born on October 14, 1931, in South Euclid, Ohio, to Grace and Manson Cortright, who preceded him in death. Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years.
On May 16, 1959, at New Lyme Baptist Church, Raymond married Shirley Scott, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.

Raymond spent much of his working life dedicated to his craft. He was employed at Chardon Rubber and later worked as a shipping clerk at Smith & Wesson, as well as at Def Tec in Rock Creek, where he remained until his retirement. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic.

Raymond had a passion for working with wood and was especially proud of building the home in which he and his family lived. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and created many lasting memories with them. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

He is survived by his spouse, Shirley Cortright (nee Scott); his children, Shirley and Rick Mikos, and Karen and Bill Tamas; and his many grandchildren: August, Anthony Napoli, Alicia Pieh, Brian, Kelly, Brandon Tamas, Nathan, Alexis Pace, Adriana King, Angelea Napoli, Kristopher Corrigan, and Sammy Hoffman. He is also survived by extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings, Norman, Manson, and Ivan Cortright.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 26, 2026, from 11am-12pm with a funeral service will begin at 12pm at Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, OH 44041. The burial will follow the service at Rome Center Cemetery, in Rome, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reserve Care Hospice, 1166 Lake Ave, Ashtabula, OH 44004 or to Disabled American Veterans, 2044 Youngstown Rd SE, Warren, OH 44484.

Raymond will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his craftsmanship, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.
