Raymond N. "PaPa" Stegura, 83, of Madison, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born on July 6, 1942, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to Helen and Nicholas Stegura. He attended Shore High School and later served in the United States Army Reserves.
A man of many passions, Raymond was a 7th Degree Black Belt in Ji-Do-Kwan Karate. He founded the Ohio Ji-Do-Kwan Karate Association East and converted a greenhouse on his property into a beautiful dojo in Willoughby Hills, where he taught, mentored, and inspired countless students. He earned numerous trophies throughout his martial arts career as well in motocross racing.
Beyond the dojo, Raymond was known for his love of animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed raising horses. He was an avid collector of watches and enjoyed collecting various types of weapons. Above all else, he was a devoted and proud father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family.
Raymond is survived by his "best friend" and former wife, Patricia Stegura; his children, Rae (Pete) Bodonyi and Tricia (Tony) Horvat; and his beloved grandchildren, Raymond Horvat, Aiden Bodonyi, Jaxson Bodonyi, and Riley Horvat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Nicholas Stegura; and his siblings, Richard Stegura, Bob Stegura, and Kathy Stegura.
In accordance with Raymond's wishes, there will be no funeral services. A private family gathering will be held.

Raymond will be remembered for his strength, discipline, generosity, and the lasting legacy he leaves through his family and students.
