Reuben Notley Thomas Jr., 87, of Madison, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 peacefully at his home.
He was born October 5, 1934 in Williamsburg, WV to the late Reuben Notley Thomas, Sr. and Dolly (McClung) Thomas. After honorably serving in the US Army, Reuben married Emma Ruth Sutherland, and together they shared 66 years of love and memories.
Reuben worked for the Ohio Rubber Company and the Painesville City Schools. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, woodworking, hunting, feeding the wild animals, and upkeeping his lawn. He was a Christian man and deeply loved his family.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Emma Ruth (Sutherland) Thomas; children, Teresa Lynn (Robert) Wilson, Keven Reuben (Kay Scibona) Thomas, and Shane Thomas; grandchildren, Janel (Jared) Sack, Abbey (Tony) Arendas, Ryan Thomas, Cherise Thomas, and Curnes Thomas; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Ensminger, Cole Spellacy, Kai Spellacy, Landen Sack, Brooklynn Wilson, and Grady Sack; 6 loving siblings; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Dwayne Allen Thomas; grandchildren, Elissa Marie Thomas, and Jacob Dwayne Thomas; 12 siblings.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, August 6, 2022 at New Life Assembly of God, 1961 Lafevre Road, Geneva, Ohio. Visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 12:00noon until the time of service.
