Richard "Rich" Lee DuFour, 76, of Rome, Ohio passed away November 17, 2023, at his home.
Rich was born July 31, 1947, in Clearfield, PA to the late George DuFour and Katherine Louise (Basil) Drought and graduated from Geneva High School. In May of 1968 he joined the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge in May of 1970.
On October 2, 1993, he married Helen DuFour in Northumberland, PA. Rich worked for 15 years at True Temper and was a truck driver for 30 years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and home improvements. He loved watching the Cleveland Guardians, football and NASCAR.
Rich is survived by his children, Jim (Nikki) DuFour, Tracy DuFour and Joe DuFour; step-children, Chris (Matt) Bean, Bruce Swanger, Denise (Dennis) Good, Diane Peoples and Tehani (Carl) Grenell; grandchildren, Corey (Cassie) Herbert, JJ DuFour and Abbie DuFour; great-grandchildren, Elliana and Jameson Herbert; siblings, Tom (Janet) DuFour and Helen (Bill) Dorman; first wife Anita Morano.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen DuFour; parents, George DuFour and Katherine Louise (Basil) Drought.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 1:00pm until the time of the Military Honors and Celebration of Life service beginning 2:30pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. Please feel free to wear any sports themed shirts to the Celebration of Life, Rich would have loved that.
