Robert "Bob" Acker, 81 of Wickliffe passed away on Saturday, April 4th at his family home surrounded by his wife and children. Bob was born on June 4th, 1944 in East Chicago, Indiana to Robert and Elizabeth Acker.
After retiring from Lincoln Electric, Bob enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family. He treasured the annual Acker family vacation to Daytona Beach every August. Bob was very involved with the activities of his kids as they grew up including coaching softball, Indian Guides and helping out with paper routes. Bob was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where the parishioners, without exception, looked forward to Bob's "famous" peanut brittle which always sold out at the OLMC Society bake sale. You could often find him shopping at Sweetberry or hanging out at Spinners for a good conversation.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Ann; his children Cindy (Stu) Allen, Tiffany Scholes, Rob (Charlene) Acker, and Bethany Padgett; his grandchildren, Leah Moore, Samantha Acker, Hunter Nichols, Dylan Nichols and Carson Allen and his only great-grandchild Ashton Nichols.
Bob had requested no formal service but will have a memorial mass dedicated to him in the near future. He was truly cherished, not only by his family, but by everyone lucky enough to know him. Our Dad will forever be missed, forever be loved, but will never be forgotten.
