Robert (Rory) D. Butler, 71, of Madison, Ohio, passed away after a battle with lung cancer on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born May 3, 1952, in Painesville, OH to parents Robert and Dorothy Butler and graduated from Madison High School. Rory was a huge Cleveland Indians fan, loved hunting and to be in the woods, gardening, and music (especially the Rolling Stones). He loved watching his grandchildren playing their sports and was very proud of them.
Rory is survived by his companion, Danielle Freeman; son, Rory Jacob Butler; granddaughter, Brianna Butler; grandson, Isiah Butler; siblings, Sandra Fidel, and Kim Vess; his best buddies, nephews, Bill Emmett, Craig Emmett, and Jason Thorsen; nieces, Tamie Rogers and Skylar Thorsen. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Dorothy Butler; and sister, Jo Anne Brown.
Rory's final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison, OH. Donations may be made in his name to David Simpson Hospice House, 300 185th St, Cleveland, OH 44119. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve and his home care nurses.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
