Robert K. Schnittger (RK), 75 passed away at his home surrounded by family on July 1, 2021. He grew up in Mentor but lived most of his adult life in Chardon. He was born on a military base in McCook Nebraska on September 24, 1945 to Robert E. and Barbara Schnittger who preceded him in death.
RK attended Mentor schools for grade school and then graduated from Western Reserve Academy in 1963. He also attended Cornell University.
He was an engineer and DJ at prominent radio stations in Florida and Cleveland in his young adulthood. He started Maple Rock Management and Maple Rock Properties which he successfully managed for more than 40 years.
RK is survived by his son Robert J. Schnittger, ex-spouse and close friend Christine Simmons, half brothers Joe Farrell (Eleanor) and Bob Boswell. Siblings Kathy Southall/Renard (Joe), Bill Schnittger (Rebecca) and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his sister Barbara Symanek (Jerry).
A private service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
