Ronald Mathew Zabjek, 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Mentor, Ohio. He graduated from Collinwood High School and Max S. Hayes Technical School. Ron worked at Lincoln Electric for 38 years as a painter and an electrician. He had several hobbies including gardening, carpentry, and auto renovation. Ron was a president of the "Corvair" car club and did carpentry and electrical work at Willoughby United Methodist Church over the years. He was also the president of "Sociables" several times and was very fond of golf. "I am not unique, just an everyday guy. My background is Slovenian and we are honest, and hardworking. My family has been so loyal to me. My wife Nancy, even with her health issues, was by my side always. Our daughter Debra lived with us and did so much. Our son Richard and his wife Deena would pick up the slack and would help to do everything they could. All my love goes to our grandchildren and great grandchildren. And about our friends—Nancy and I have the best. Handpicked or did they pick us? Thank you, thank you!" A service will be held at Willoughby United Methodist Church, Monday, December 18th at 11am. Ron's final resting place will be in the Willoughby United Methodist Church Columbarium Garden.
