It is with great joy that we celebrate the life and final homecoming of Ruth A. Hawkins to Heaven where she now is in eternal life with her Lord and Savior. Ruth A. Hawkins, 84, of Austinburg, OH passed away on March 11, 2025. She was born in Burton, OH on January 16, 1941, to the late Joseph and Eva Bentley Hamilton and was a 1959 graduate of Grand Valley High School in Orwell, OH. In 1977, she married the late Robert Hawkins. What Ruth enjoyed most was spending time with her family, friends, and church family. She also enjoyed spiritual learning, horseback riding, family gatherings, and cookouts. Ruth is survived by her loving daughters, Debbie (Cliff) Collins of Jefferson, OH, Lorie (David) Talladino of Alvarado, TX, and Sherry (John) Betts of Minneola, TX; four grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins Ken and Mary Bentley, and friends. She adored all, however, her nieces Janet McDougall and Veronica Hamilton were there for her until the end. A special "Thank You" to Kathy McArdle for being a good friend to her and for her loving kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, David Tucholski; step-mother, Helen Meek Hamilton; brothers, Joseph (Betty) Hamilton and Eddie (Diane) Hamilton; step-brother, Lyndel Meek. Ruth was a devoted Christian dedicated to bringing people to the Lord to receive Jesus Christ into their hearts. The Hawkins family would like to extend a sincere "Thank You" to the nurses and staff at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation and Hospice for the kindness and compassion that was shown to Ruth in her final days. Also, a special "Thank You" to Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services for all they have done for the family. A Funeral Service for family and friends will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025, at 11:00am at Bible Baptist Church, 4448 North Ridge West, Ashtabula, OH 44004, with Pastor: Dr. Greg A. Cole officiating. Burial will directly follow the service at North Cemetery in Rome Township (State Route 45 and Laskey Road). Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
