Samuel Walter Coffman, Jr., 81, of Kingsville, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at The Lantern of Saybrook.
He was born March 21, 1940 in Dunbar, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel Walter and Zelda (Wadsworth) Coffman, Sr. and graduated from high school in Pennsylvania, before moving to Conneaut, Ohio in 1958. On July 30, 1960, he married Carol Ann Tuttle and together they shared 55 years of love and memories until her passing February 28, 2016.
Sam worked at RMI Titanium for many years and in his 70's he went back to work for the Ashtabula Senior Center as "Sam the Handyman" helping Ashtabula County residents needing home repairs. He was an active member of The Council of Rural Dynamic Ministry and the Monroe United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Samrietta Scott of Ashtabula and Kimberly (Dale) Wisnyai of Ashtabula; granddaughter, Karly Wisnyai of Madison; great-grandson, Dominic Wisnyai of Ashtabula; siblings, Karen (Donald) Griffith, Ilene (George) Randall, Emma (Don) Jane, and Geary Coffman.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife Carol (Tuttle) Coffman; grandson, Kolin Wisnyai on March 30, 2018; siblings, Connie Ghrist, Larry Coffman, Lewis Coffman, Sue Childress, Ruth Ann Riddle, Maxine Coffman, Debbie Coffman, and James Coffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00am at the Monroe United Methodist Church, 4302 Center Road, Conneaut, Ohio with Reverend Julie Applegate officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 5pm-7pm.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at both The Lantern of Saybrook and Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
