It is with great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude that we announce the passing of Sandra J. Antos-Jacobs on April 21, 2023.

Sandy was born to Walter Antos and Helen Petrencik on August 13, 1954. She grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and in 1972, she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, and with a full scholarship went on to obtain a degree in special education from YSU in 1977. She spent the next 33 years working for Geneva Area City Schools, teaching special education.

Her kindness and empathy were without limits and those who were fortunate enough to know her felt her unwavering support. If a life is measured by the lives we touch, her enormous legacy is reflected in the wonderful memories held by all who knew her.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Walter Antos and Helen Petrencik, and her life-long friend Cathy Berly.

She leaves behind her husband, Jim Jacobs, daughter Desiree (Andrew Ogelsby) Reed, brother Walter (Martha) Antos, sister Joanne (Paul) Bradiack, her nephew Walter (Cindy) Antos, niece Michelle (Keith) Segreti, and granddaughter Madelyn Ogelsby.

Family and friends will be received at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio 44041 on Monday, May 1, 2023. Calling hours will be held from 3-5pm with the service beginning at 5pm with food to follow. All are welcome.
