Sharon Marie Smith, 76, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at her family home in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio.
She was born January 12, 1949, in Savanna, Illinois, to the late Bernard and Gladys Crist. After graduating from high school, she married the late Harold Smith, III of Grove City, Ohio and together they raised two children.
Sharon was a member of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed lake-gazing, watching Christian TV and bargain hunting. Sharon struggled with her mental health for many years, yet she was a supportive mother and loving and doting grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Harold Smith, IV and Crista Hettinger; grandchildren, Tristen and Lydia Hart; sisters, Sandra Schrade and Sally Smith.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smith, III; parents, Bernard and Gladys Crist; son-in-law, Joseph Hettinger; grandchild, Cora Hart; siblings, Susan Brown, Bernard Crist, Jr. and Shelly Eversole.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to Hospice of the Western Reserve for helping to give Sharon a peaceful end of her life.
