Shawnna Nikole Spurlock (aka Bowes), 31, of Newbury, Ohio passed away tragically on August 28, 2024, in a fatal car accident, along with her wife Rebecca Ann Spofford (aka Bowes), in Russell Township.
She was born October 28, 1992, in Ashtabula, Ohio to Tina Bartley and Mike Wiley and graduated from Geneva High School.
On October 31, 2022, she married Rebecca Spofford at Squires Castle.
Shawnna was a self-employed house cleaner and a self-taught Barber. She enjoyed writing/journalling, music, beat boxing, singing, bargain shopping, fixing things, and she had an obsession with jewelry AKA Drip. She loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and they loved her too and awarded her the Best Auntie Award.
She is survived by her dog, Zero; father, Mike Wiley; mother and stepfather, Tina Bartley & Keith Bartley; siblings, Krista Bowes, Destiny Hayman, Breonna Wiley, Felicia Bartley, and Kierston Bartley; nieces and nephews, Hastin J. Ashmore, Chayton R. Althar, Jr., Declyn Althar, Brynlee Athar, Nova Bartley, and Kinsley Elkins; maternal grandparents, Joan & Dan Hart; paternal grandparents, Barb & Calvin Aliff; mother and father-in-law, Michelle Spofford & John Spofford; brother-in-law, Kevin Somody.
Shawnna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Cassesa, known as GG and her stepfather, Larry Hayman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:00pm-4:30pm at the Village of Timberlake Hall, 11 East Shore Blvd, Timberlake, Ohio 44095. Please feel free to bring a side dish or dessert with you.

The family wants to thank everyone who has reached out to share memories, photos, support, condolences, and more. It has helped them so much during this difficult time to remember how much they were loved by so many. They especially want to thank all the wonderful family and friends who have helped donate to make it possible to give Shawnna & Rebecca the best and most respectful sendoff they could.
Shawnna was a beloved daughter, sister, & treasured Auntie. A bright flame extinguished too soon. Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile will be remembered and missed immensely. Shawnna loved hard and was loved harder back, we love and miss you dearly. -Momma.
Shawnna was loyal, brave, generous, stubborn, & most known for her sense of humor. She left behind the most cherished memories for so many. As we grief this sudden and immense loss of both Shawnna and her Wife Rebecca we find solace in knowing their spirits live on forever. While life will never be the same without their physical presence, we will hold their memories near and dear to feel their souls all around us.
