Obituary

Stephen "Tuscy" George Burk, 85, of Madison, Ohio, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. He was born July 18, 1939, in Manhattan, New York, to parents Mildred and Stephen R. Burk. Steve worked for Harvey Hubbel for 30 years, was a farmer, and was a longtime Volunteer Firefighter for Madison. He played high school football, was a member of Harpersfield UMC, and was with the Masonic Lodge Lakeshore #307 for 50 years. In his free time, Steve enjoyed a good crossword puzzle, antique engines, trains, watching football and westerns, playing the harmonica, and used to love going dancing. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Scott) Burk; son, Scott Burk; grandchildren, Sarah (Todd) Perry, and Allan (Paige) Burk; great grandchildren, Luke, Emily, and Mallory; cousins, Geroge (Janet) Bickford, Bill Bickford, and Karen (Les) Helmeczi; his favorite niece, Kristen (Mike) Harrington; great niece and nephew, Delaney, and Griffin. Steve was preceded in death by his son, Stephen M. Burk; and brother, Jim Zakrajsek. A visitation will be held from 5pm-7pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 12pm with light refreshments to follow on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Debonne Vineyards, 7840 Doty Rd, Madison, OH 44057. Steve will be buried at Fairview Cemetery in Madison, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Madison Fire Department, Madison Township Police Depart, and Harpersfield United Methodist Church.
