Steven Daniel Kasich entered this world on December 21, 1987, to parents Samantha Edge and Steven Wayne Kasich in Summit, New Jersey. He was a sweet soul who grew up in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. He had a passion for skateboarding, a sport in which he excelled; he loved nature and canoeing; he loved music and was an exceptional artist. His artistic talent led him to study at the DuCret School of Art in Plainfield, New Jersey, where he was recognized for his painting and stained-glass work. He was a mural and graffiti artist, and his creativity was evident in yard and house projects.
At age nine, Steve became Clayton's admired big brother. Clay fondly remembers being a seven-year-old at the skatepark with his cool brother, Steve, and spending late nights skating in the driveway over ramps built by their grandfather. At age 14, he became a big brother again when Cooper was born. This rounded out the trio of Kasich brothers, with Steve always being his mother's partner in crime!
Steve was the proud father of a beautiful ten-year-old daughter, Gwenyth, whom he adored. He and Gwen shared a love of art.
He also loved his many pets, especially pups Teddy and Zero.
Steve was greeted in heaven by his grandparents on November 8, 2025, after passing away at the family home in Painesville, Ohio. Steve deeply loved his family and friends and will always be remembered by his beloved mother, Samantha Edge of Painesville, father, Steven Wayne Kasich of Asheville, North Carolina; brothers Clayton Kasich of Los Angeles and Cooper Kasich of Cleveland; and daughter Gwenyth, along with her mother, Jen Sileo of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Sally & George Edge, and his Grandparents, Sophie & John Kasich.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Lake Erie Cremation & Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Rd, Geneva, assisted the family with arrangements.
