Susan Jane Braat "Sue", 77, of Geneva, Ohio passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, from natural causes at her home surrounded by family.
She was born October 18, 1946, in Geneva, Ohio to Harry Spore and Elizabeth Freeborn. On October 28, 1974, she married James Joseph Braat.
Sue worked as an Environmental Services Manager at Stewart Lodge. In her spare time, she loved to shop, visit casinos, and crafting. She was a member of the Geneva VFW Post 6846 and the Geneva Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Swanson (Kevin), Scott Braat (Alex), Raymond Braat (Toni) and Amy Cuthbert (Sander); 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Wortman, Marion Zalimeni (Nick); Mary Paskey, Shirley Snow (Bob), and Virginia Edington.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Braat; children, Jimmy Braat, Rodney Braat, and Randy Braat; parents, Harry Spore and Elizabeth Freeborn; siblings, Harry Spore, Helen Porter, Casey Sickels, Andy Spore, and Billy Spore.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life which will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 1-4pm at the Geneva VFW Post 6846, 76 Depot Street, Geneva, Ohio.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
