Susan “Suzie” Bair, 62, of Vernon, Connecticut, entered perpetual rest on May 15, 2026, while being cared for in Ohio, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on January 24, 1964, in Columbus, Ohio, she is survived by her father, Robert D. Bair and joins her beloved mother, Juanita L. Bair, in Heaven. Suzie was also preceded in death by her sister, Sandra “Sandy” Bair. Friends and family are comforted in knowing that the trio is eternally reunited. She is also survived by her many cousins in Ohio and her most precious canine babies, Molly and Lily.
Having spent most of her life in Vernon, Connecticut, Suzie was a 1982 East Catholic High School graduate, and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University, where she majored in Education and Mathematics. She was employed as a Senior Underwriter for United HealthCare where she worked for the last 30 years, taking great pride in her work and in all of the relationships she built with her wonderful colleagues. She spoke often of how she missed the office banter and her work friends.
Suzie had many passions in her life, most notably, visiting the beaches of Connecticut and Rhode Island, watching football, working in her yard, spoiling her dogs, and of course, cheering on those Cleveland Browns, proof of both optimism and endurance. She also loved shopping for just about anything, haggling for a good deal, discussing politics and current events, getting dressed up and going out and binge watching a good TV series.
Special thanks to long-time friends Matt Galligan and Tim Schwager for decades of companionship and support, to her close neighbors who checked on and looked after her and to the Cleveland Clinic Hospice team for aiding the family in providing her with comfort, care, dignity and lots of love.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 10 am at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester, CT. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Valley Falls Cemetery, 65 Valley Falls Road, Vernon, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Suzie’s memory to Euclid Pet Pals, 25100 Lakeland Boulevard, Euclid, Ohio 44132.
Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 29801 Lakeland Blvd., Wickliffe, OH assisted the family with arrangements.
