Theresa Ludwigsen's Obituary
Theresa Myrtle (Todd) Ludwigsen , 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1939, in Jefferson Township, Ohio, to Kathryn Marie Meyer and Lewis Melvin Todd.
She grew up in Ashtabula before she married Carl William Ludwigsen and moved to Geneva where she and Carl raised their three children. They later moved to the Willoughby/Mayfield Heights area where she lived for the past 30 years. She recently had been a resident of Eagle Pointe Skilled Nursing and Rehab where she received excellent care and attention in her final months.
She was an active volunteer throughout her life with her church, singing soprano in the choir and serving as a member of the Altar Guild as well as serving in multiple roles and leadership positions with her many Masonic affiliations of Order of Eastern Star, The White Shine, and Order of the Amaranth. She loved to cook, bake, can, and serve others. She was an avid reader, a lifelong learner who loved a good puzzle, fresh iris and lilacs, patterns, purple, and a little sparkle which you could also catch in her green eyes.
Theresa lived a full life and was always on the go. In her younger days she was an active member of her bowling league with a 270 average. She loved games and was an especially sharp card player where she was likely to win handily.
Theresa loved to work with the public and always eagerly pulled those she met into easy conversation with a ready smile, quick wit, and an infectious laugh.
Preceded in death by her husband, Carl W.; daughter, Lovisa; son, Carl M.; sisters, Mary Kay, Phyllis, Ruth; brothers, James and William. She is survived by her sisters, Francis and Roberta; brother, Clarence; daughter, Roberta (Mark); ex daughter-in-law, Shirley (Kurt); granddaughters, Grace (Tanner) and Tiffany (Damon), and two great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Donations or remembrances in Theresa's honor can be made to Eagle Pointe Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Hospice of the Western Reserve, or a charity of your choice.
